“I recently gave a Gospel of John to a young woman who works at our local mall. I followed up with her a couple of weeks later and she told me she accepted Jesus into her heart using the Gospel of John booklet! I saw her again last night and she is using the pocket testament booklet to lead her boyfriend to Jesus! I received my Gospels of John because of someone donating sponsorship funds, otherwise I would not be able to have this valuable Gospel of John tool in my hands. Thank you to all those who donate! You’ve gotten used to pocketpower.org as the League’s domain name, and it has served us well. But as we prepare to expand into new geographic regions around the world, we realized that this name was not as easy for non-English speaking people to remember or type. So we’ve changed to Dear Member:
As we look to the Easter celebration later this month recognizing our risen Savior, I pray that you're inspired to boldy share your faith. Look at this example of Mel Heal, one of our Speaker Representatives, and a faithful servant of Christ:
Mel Heal is consistent in reading his Bible, carrying Gospels of John, and sharing them with others.
Mel speaks to church and college groups to tell people about the ministry of The Pocket Testament League. He has been a member for about 5 years.
Favorite place to carry Gospels: I like to carry the Gospels of John in my pocket and in my car. I also carry them with my equipment and have them available on display on tables for people to pick up when I visit colleges.
Favorite time to read the Bible: I like to read the Bible in the morning before my day gets "cranked up"!
Favorite story about sharing the Gospel of John: I have a couple of favorite stories. One time I gave a League church presentation and a young, high school aged lady really caught the vision. She took the Gospels of John to her school and shared with another girl in class. The teacher stared at her, and after class called her up to talk to her. So, she shared about the Gospel of John with the teacher. Her teacher was really moved. Hearing this story really blessed me!
Another time a man came to my website for the League and let me know that he read the Gospel of John and then accepted Christ as his Savior. It is wonderful how you can track the Gospels of John that go out to people under your member ID number on your own League website. It's a blessing and you never know who will sign up just because you were faithful to carry and share the Gospel of John.
How has being a League member impacted you and others?I know that the Word of God can change people's lives. I have always been motivated to share God's Word and the Gospel of John changes lives, but I'm more motivated than ever with the Pocket Testament Gospels of John. The League has given the tools I need to share God's Word.
What would you say to encourage others to share? God doesn't expect us to be successful, but He does expect us to be faithful because He is faithful. Since He is faithful, there's a strong possibility that we'll be successful. So "Press On"! If you are serious, you can say to people, "I have something interesting here to give you. This little book can change your life and the lives of others."
We have the Word and many aren't sharing it. I have never seen it like this before in our country. There seems to be a lack of interest in our society for the Lord's work. Experts say that it takes 30 days to form any habit, good or bad. So, the more you share the Gospel of John and give it away, the easier it gets to share. I know it works. You don't know what will come from you sharing the Gospel of John with people and how you will influence them. I think we will be surprised, in heaven, to find out who we influenced during our time on earth. Put in effort and discipline yourself. Remember, you are handling the Word of God and it changes lives from the inside, out. So, if you haven't been sharing, then… Start!
League Gospels are being shared in Pakistan
We heard from Pastor Azher Kaleem at Church of the Nations in Pakistan that he was able to give away our Gospels of John to missionaries and pastors there just a few days ago. What a blessing to see the Word of God used in such a region! Here's a picture sent to us by Azher (center). Please pray for God's protection on these people serving the Lord so boldly there.
