Two older women in winter coats and hats stand outdoors by a green metal fence. One smiles and carries a handbag; the other holds magazines and a walking stick. Both appear warm and content.

First Light in Buryatia: The Gospel Reaches an Unreached People

Please join us in celebrating an historic moment — for the first time, the Buryat people of Eastern Siberia received the Gospel of John in their own language through The Pocket Testament League.

Hope Arrives for the Buryat People

In the vast Republic of Buryatia, where fewer than 3,200 of nearly one million people are evangelical Christians, God’s Word has been scarce and few churches exist. Most Buryats practice a combination of Tibetan Buddhism and Shamanism, and Christian resources in their language are almost unheard of. Thanks to your support, PTL recently provided Gospels of John in Buryat, bringing hope to this unreached group in a region north of Mongolia.

Pastor Sergey and his team, led by long-term League Partner Pavel from Mission Eurasia, engaged 2,000 Buryats with the living Word of God. Despite the challenges, 29 people prayed the prayer of repentance, a sign of the Spirit moving among hearts that may have never before encountered Jesus.

Seeds Planted at Trunk-or-Treat

God multiplies your faithfulness both near and far. Last week, a League Member shared her church’s trunk-or-treat story. Parking in the middle of 25 decorated trunks, she and her husband made sure no family missed the chance to receive a Gospel. By evening’s end, 920 Halloween Gospels of John had been given out.

Children’s eyes lit up as they received their books — some were so interested they forgot the candy, and many turned to parents excited about the gift of God’s Word. As these Gospels reach families, even small puzzles inside inspire curiosity and conversation. When we plant seeds of faith, God multiplies them to impact homes and whole communities.

Your support is helping PTL shine the light of Christ in unexpected places, from local neighborhoods to the most remote regions of the world. Thank you for making it possible for the Good News to reach those who have never heard the name of Jesus.
