Gospel Momentum in America
Every week, we receive powerful reports of people meeting Jesus around the world, many in the face of hardship and persecution. Yet amid those global stories, it’s easy to miss what is happening closer to home. God is moving right here in the United States.
Since 2019, more than 13.3 million people in America have been invited to meet Jesus through a simple Gospel of John. That is the greatest number of invitations in any country, a movement of faith right in our own backyard.
In the past twelve months alone, 1.5 million more Americans received that same invitation. And the momentum isn’t slowing down. In the next year, The League expects that number to surpass 2 million invitations, each one representing a life, a moment, and an opportunity for transformation.
Gospel Momentum Across the Nation
This movement is taking shape everywhere: through families, ministries, and churches that have caught the vision of living out The League’s mission each day.
In just a few weeks, over 80,000 children across the nation will receive Halloween-themed Gospels. That number has doubled since last year. Each one placed in a child’s hand will go home in a candy bag, but what it contains is far sweeter: the message of eternal life in Christ.
One of our longtime partners, a disaster relief ministry that began locally, has now expanded nationwide. When disaster strikes, they rush in with help and hope, equipped with 125,000 Gospels ready to bring comfort, prayer, and the Word of God to those walking through loss.
Digitally, momentum continues to grow. The League’s Read Carry Share App, once downloaded primarily overseas, is now spreading quickly here at home. The United States has become one of the top countries for app downloads, paving the way for the release of App 2.0 in early 2026. This next version will create community-driven discipleship pathways that help believers engage Scripture together in new ways.
It’s clear: from small towns to smartphones, Americans are engaging with the Gospel like never before.
A Night of Costumes, Candy, and Christ
One League Member shared how their church’s annual Trunk or Treat event became a creative opportunity to share Jesus. Each Halloween, families stream through their church parking lot, children dressed as superheroes, parents smiling, and volunteers handing out candy. But amid the celebration, something deeper happens.
Volunteers set up a tent where families can talk and ask questions, and kids follow a “stamp page” adventure designed to lead them through the Gospel story. This year, they’re adding PTL’s Halloween Gospels. The covers are bright and fun, designed to draw attention, but the message inside points to eternal hope.
As children reach for them and parents flip through the pages later that evening, Gospel seeds are planted. What begins as a community event becomes an encounter with the living Word of God.
Salvation Beside the Chopper
Another story reached us recently from a League Member who met a man sitting beside his motorcycle. A casual hello turned into a Spirit-led conversation about eternity. The man shared that he had suffered a heart attack just a week earlier and had been thinking about life, death, and what comes after.
Right there on the sidewalk, the Gospel was shared. As they talked, the man made a life-changing decision to put his trust in Jesus.
It’s a simple reminder that the power is never in our plans but in God’s. One conversation. One question. One small Gospel of John. That’s all it takes for a life to be forever changed.
From disaster zones to digital communities, from church parking lots to roadside encounters, the Gospel continues to go forth through League Members everywhere.
Until All Are Invited
The Pocket Testament League exists to help people meet Jesus, beginning in our own neighborhoods. Every Gospel given and every story shared joins in a greater mission that reaches far beyond what we can see.
Yes, the numbers are incredible. But the stories are even greater, because behind every number is a name, a soul, and a testimony of God’s transforming grace.
Will you pray with us that this next season of growth, here in the United States and beyond, will bring eternal fruit?
