People’s hearts are open and hurting in these cities where violence and unrest have significantly increased in the wake of Covid-19. Summer, in particular, is a time when schools are closed and people in these urban areas are looking for entertainment and relationships.
In the wake of a tumultuous year across the world, some of the most notoriously violent cities in the U.S. are experiencing increased violence and unrest. This summer, League Members are coming together across America to reach more than 2 million people for Jesus.
“I have been active in street evangelism for the past 14 years and by God’s Grace have prayed with thousands to receive Christ. I do not always have literature to share with people, but when I have a Gospel of John, it is a spark to get people started in the Word of God. I love the plan of salvation in the front of the Gospel which reinforces the message they have just heard. And, if they do not immediately pray with me, if I have the opportunity to present them with a pocket Gospel it becomes a mini-preacher to present the Gospel to them at a later time when they have a chance to read it.” – Clarence
“Today as I walked through a downtown alley, I noticed a man lying down on the street. I approached him and as he sat up I began to proclaim the Good News to him. The first thing he said to me is “I need God”, so I led him in the sinner’s prayer and he called upon the Savior for Salvation! I left him with a smile on his face & tears in his eyes with a Gospel of John.” – Forrest
Pastor David Beidel, Urban Hope NYC, is mobilizing 2,000 churches across greater NYC for a program called Summer for Jesus. Partnering with The Pocket Testament League, they are providing a Gospel of John to each person who is reached this summer in New York, Philadelphia, and Camden, NJ.
Help League Members like Clarence, Forrest, and Pastor David share Jesus by supporting these efforts through a donation. A donation of just $25 will reach 30 people with The Gospel.
