You Never Know

After being locked in for 14 months because of the pandemic, Jack has been able to venture out and start sharing Gospels of John again. He carries them in his hip pocket. He feels that he never knows what will happen when he simply hands people the pocket Gospel. Jack declared,

I give out “A Story of Perfect Love” with the red rose on the Gospel cover.
I tell people that I want to give them a gift.
I ask them, “When was the last time a man gave you a rose?”

He asks this question of both men and women, with his hand holding the Gospel and the rose extended toward them. He says that everyone takes the Gospel with a smile. Recently one day, Jack had several experiences giving out Gospels. He went to get a haircut at his usual place and saw Richard and two others who frequent the place. Jack had given them all pocket Gospels about a year before, with no response except a nod of agreement from Arthur who is saved. Jack revealed,

Now a year later, I’m still in conversation with them about Jesus.
They are showing more interest in the Gospel of John
and you just never know what will happen.

After getting his haircut, Jack walked outside and handed a pocket Gospel to a lady on the street. She took it and walked away flipping the pages. He recounted,

After a moment the lady turned around and came running back to me.
She was holding the gospel up in her hand and shouting,
“I’m going to read this! I’m going to read this!”

As he headed to visit a Christian brother in a nursing home he thought to himself that you just never know what God will do. He spent some time with his friend and his roommate. In his usual manner, Jack gave his friend’s roommate a Gospel of John with the rose on the cover. Later that day he asked his friend’s daughter to let him know if the roommate read the Gospel. Jack recalled,

A few days later both men died, and my friend’s daughter called.
She told me that my friend’s roommate had read the pocket Gospel
and confessed his salvation to her and I thought, “You just never know”.
