Never Too Old For The Gospel
One day seeing a post from the Pocket Testament League on Facebook, Henry chose to click on it and go to the website. He and his wife Phyllis, both 87 years old, had moved into a retirement home in Naniamo, British Columbia. He wanted to share the Gospels of John with those in their new living quarters.
He began simply handing the Gospels to people as a gift.
One day he was talking to a very alert and extremely intelligent 101 year-old man named Norman. Norman told him that he had attended a church years ago for a short while, but he didn’t really have much interaction and wasn’t too interested in the church.
Henry decided to give Norman a pocket Gospel of John and encouraged him to read it.
Norman took the Gospel booklet. A short time later, the two men were having another conversation and Norman told Henry that he read the Gospel, but Henry didn’t give it to him.
He said, “It was the Lord who gave the Gospel of John to me”.
Norman died a month later and went to spend eternity with Jesus because of God’s Divine appointment and Henry’s faithfulness to simply hand him a Gospel of John and encourage him to read it.
