Partnerships with Purpose: Expanding the Reach of God’s Word
League Partners are at the very heart of our mission. They allow us to stay focused on our calling to invite people to meet Jesus through God’s Word while empowering our on-the-ground Partners to do what they do best: reach hearts in their own cultures, languages, and communities.
For more than a decade, we have been honored to partner with Pavel and the ministry of Mission Eurasia. Together, more than four million people have been invited to meet Jesus through the Gospel of John. What started as a partnership focused primarily on Russia has now grown far beyond its original borders, reaching into Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Poland, Armenia, Georgia, and Kyrgyzstan.
And we are not stopping there.
This spring, our partnership is opening new frontiers in Azerbaijan and Mongolia, bringing the life-changing message of Jesus to places where spiritual hunger is deep and opportunity abounds.
Reaching Beyond Borders
Azerbaijan not only needs the Gospel; it holds the key to reaching a neighboring nation that is often closed to missionaries: Iran. In fact, more than 12 million Azeri speakers live inside Iran, compared to about 9 million in Azerbaijan itself.
Pavel recently shared the story of a faithful pastor in Tehran who led an underground Christian fellowship for Azeri believers. One day, authorities stormed the gathering. The pastor and his wife were detained and held for an entire year before being released and returning to Azerbaijan. Their courage and faith remind us why we press forward, to place the Word of God into the hands of believers who share Christ across borders, even when it requires extraordinary faith and sacrifice.
Equipping Leaders in Mongolia
In Mongolia, our focus is equipping leaders. It is a nation with vast spaces and few believers. The Joshua Project estimates that less than 2% of Mongolia’s 3.5 million people follow Jesus. Over 93% remain unreached.
This spring, Pavel and the Mission Eurasia team will teach at a Mongolian Youth Conference, gathering 70 to 80 key leaders from across the country. They will be trained to share the Gospel using The Pocket Testament League App, including the new community feature, and will be equipped with printed Gospels to carry into their ministries.
This moment marks a new horizon for our partnership as we equip leaders who will serve across one of the most open yet spiritually needy nations on earth. We are deeply excited about what God will do through these 70 to 80 messengers of hope and truth.
A Word That Gripped Our Hearts
Jesus said in Luke 10:2, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”
That verse takes on new meaning as we consider the vastness of Mongolia and the isolation of Iran. Both places desperately need leaders and laborers who are grounded in God’s Word.
We are blessed to equip them for God’s mission.
Please join us in praying for these projects, for the pastors and evangelists who will carry the Gospel, and for Pavel and his family as they lead teams reaching into new regions and countries. Together, let us pray that all may have the opportunity to meet Jesus.
