Sharing Jesus in India Against All Odds
The next twelve months will see a race to invite 20 million people worldwide to meet Jesus, and India continues to stand at the center of this mission. Last year, by God’s grace, nearly 2 million people were invited to meet Jesus across India. The goal for the coming year is astounding: 6 million invitations, combining printed Gospels and digital engagement.
This number may seem almost impossible, especially considering the increasing hostility toward Christianity in India. Persecution is intensifying, and laws are increasingly used to imprison and silence Christian believers. India ranks as the 11th most dangerous place in the world for Christians, with government and societal pressure viewing any evangelism outside Hinduism as a threat to be met with force.
Yet even in this environment, two remarkable groups are pressing forward.
The first are the Indian believers who, despite mounting risks, are not retreating. They have asked for more Gospels of John to distribute, and thanks to generous supporters, 650,000 Gospels arrived just last Friday and are being deployed immediately. The goal is to print 1 million, and believers are asking for 2 million.
The second are seekers. Across India, over 1.2 million people have downloaded our app in just three months, encountering Jesus through His Word on their smartphones. If this pace continues, 5 million more will come to Christ digitally in the next twelve months.
Combined, this means 1 million in print plus 5 million digitally—6 million invitations to meet Jesus.
What’s happening in India is truly breathtaking. In the midst of increasing persecution and fear, believers are boldly sharing the Gospel, and seekers are actively searching for Jesus. God’s promise in Jeremiah 29:13 reminds us that those who seek Him with all their heart will find Him.
Together, through prayer and partnership, we are helping millions in India meet Jesus through His Word. Please join us in lifting up the Church in India—pray for courage, protection, and divine appointments as the Gospel continues to break through.
