Sharing Salvation Unexpectedly
Deeply contemplative one day, Robert was having a conversation with his wife Nancy and decided to confide to her that he wanted to say the sinner’s prayer. Knowing that he was a believer, she was surprised, yet eager to lead him to Christ… and she knew right where to get that prayer. Nancy shared that she had received a Gospel of John from a friend and then decided to order more. When they arrived, she had put them in her home ready to give out when the opportunity would arise. Knowing that the sinner’s prayer is located inside the back page of a PTL Gospel of John, Nancy related,
I got up and ran into the other room to grab a Gospel
and I brought it in to recite the sinner’s prayer with Robert.
We went through it together!”
Deeply grieved, and yet with joy in her heart, a month later Nancy sadly conveyed that she had experienced a divine appointment with her husband of 59 years. She expressed that he had died, and she is confident he is with the Lord.
Nancy has the sweet memory that she was able to share a pocket Gospel
and the salvation message, in a most unexpected way, with her beloved husband.
Even in a time of grief and sorrow God opens doors sometimes when we least expect it and with people who surprise us.
