Titus 2:11
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Key word Grace, that offers Salvation to all people. Gods Grace is an action, a result of Gods stead fast love, compassion, and mercy, an unconditional acceptance that is unlike human Love. The Grace of God is Free, Romans 3:24 and all are justified Freely by His grace through the Redemption that came by Christ Jesus. and its Eternal 2 Timothy 1:9 He has saved us and called us to a Holy Life- not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and Grace. This Grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time. As I have stated recently in other remarks on God's Grace> Gods Riches At Christ Expense.

Titus 1:16
They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.

I believe this whole chapter deals with the requirements of a Church leader/Elder or Pastor. but this verse to me say's beware of false teachers(pastors or elders) who proclaim they know God. I would like to take a step further with this verse and bring government officials who claim to know God, who to know His will for marriage, when Gods word says marriage is between a man and a woman, they claim that man has a right to change his/hers sexuality, they claim that its a right to abort babies, and their laws that they past in the last few months(very sad) when life of the born and unborn is precious in the eyes of the Lord. The actions of our Government is detestable. Come quickly Lord come quickly.

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—

That we are all equal in the Lord's eyes as far a receiving the word and the commandments and the gospel of Jesus Christ our savior. I am kind of sad about the end of this, but I will pray about that and think more on why it bothers me .Verses11-15

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

That God is amazing and thoughtful , creating all the wonders that he gave to us because of his love. We need to keep that in mind and be humble and grateful and appreciate the life we have because of his love. Thank you Father

Titus 1:9
He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

Paul in this chapter gives a clear description of an elder (leading authority) of the church. The church elder is to be one of excellent character and righteous actions, as an example to others in the body of Christ, that all would be as he is. Lord, we ask that You would inspire us by Your word to walk in righteousness as we seek to lead others into the faith. Amen

or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God's work—which is by faith.

It reminds me of the difference between knowledge and compassion. Knowledge stays inside the head. Compassion puts that head knowledge into action. It is faith that advances God's Kingdom not raw data. Greg Laurie observed about workers for Christ something that went like this: those who know the most do the least and those who know the least do the most. I'm satisfied to be included with that latter groups.

2 Timothy 4:4
They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

I see here Paul writing to the church, the Body of Christ/individuals to beware of false teachers, and false teaching. And in the Church today, and I'm not saying all Churches, but you can find a church today that will teach whatever you want to hear. God commands all preachers to stand for the Truth and preach the word of God. I also refer to what Paul said in the second verse of this chapter, The charge to Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season;(as preachers of God's word to) Correct, Rebuke, and Encourage- with great Patience(!) and Careful Instruction(! emphasis) As preachers and teachers of God's flock they must do their best to feed the flock and to protect them from the wolves. Brothers and Sister in Christ do not have itchy ears and do not turn away from the Faith.

Well expressed, Peter. There are churches today that soften the truth of the gospel to make people feel good and accepted, rather than speaking the truth of God's word so the their congregations would grow better and better in their walk with Christ. It is sad when the word of the Lord is softened to make people feel good but which is actually allowing them to bow to the enemy's deceptions. Be blessed and encouraged brother Peter, as we dig into the truth of His holy word. :-)

Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.

We live in a world where "paybacks can be ___". To payback with love goes against the world's way. To respond with love does look like we're off. It is the act in which we are to do.
