Deuteronomy 34:10
Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
I believe this is a prophetic verse, one of the greatest promises connected with the life of Moses is the promise to raise up a prophet like Moses. And God can never break a promise. (Stephen speaking here) Acts 7: 37 "This is the Moses who told Israelites, God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your Own people. And Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of that prophecies. Through the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, made atonement for our sin.

Deuteronomy 21:18
If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him,

I didn't really have a 'favorite ' verse in chapter 21. This verse was perhaps the least offensive. Until they stone the son to death. Anyway, it tells me we should listen to our parents and obey. So I should listen to God my Father and obey.

Deuteronomy 33:29
Blessed are you, Israel!
Who is like you,
a people saved by the Lord?
He is your shield and helper
and your glorious sword.
Your enemies will cower before you,
and you will tread on their heights."

Moses before his death had pronounced blessings over each of the tribes of Israel, which he no doubt received from the Lord. The Lord never forsakes Israel, just as we are seeing today with the re-establishment of Israel, which has become an outstanding nation of the world.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Can't add to much to that Lloyd, you covered it well . No matter with all the grumbling and disobedience Israel did, He still Blesses them even today as you stated. Continued Blessings on your family.

The Lord is my (our Shield) God is wide awake 24/7 to protect me(us )from satan and Sin. He is our Shield of Faith, Ephesians 6:16 In addition to all this, take up the Shield of Faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. He is Our Shield and Helper and Our Glorious Sword. So Raise The Sword Of The Spirit- Which Is The Word Of God!

Amen Peter. The Lord surely is our shield, just as He spoke blessings over the tribes of Israel, through Moses. God never changes, and we can count on Him. We were discussing the "Shield of Faith" this evening in our Bible study, and the discussion lasted nearly an hour and a half. The deeper we dig into His word of truth, the more exciting it becomes. Be blessed my brother in Christ, as we continue to seek after Him. :-)

Deuteronomy 32:43
Rejoice, you nations, with his people,
for he will avenge the blood of his servants;
he will take vengeance on his enemies
and make atonement for his land and people.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
This is an encouraging verse, as the Lord will avenge all who have turned against Him. Those who worship false gods and turn against the commands the Lord God Himself has declared. He is a gracious God, if there is confession, repentance and turning back to Him but those who continue to believe they can outsmart the God of all creation, will surely regret their boldness and pride. Prov 22:4 By humility and the fear of Jehovah are riches and honor and life.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
You nailed this verse Lloyd, God has always declared His intentions to take vengeance on those who wrong others and go against His commands. Romans 12:19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but have room for God's wrath, for it is written: It is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the Lord. Be Blest and Strengthened in God's word daily.

Deuteronomy 20:10
When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace.
Donna K.
Donna K. from Simcoe, ON said:
Even in battle against His enemies, God extends grace. Forced labour and slavery tend to be ugly concepts, but still has hope of redemption. Seems far better than an ugly death through war. Hopefully.

Determine the distances involved and divide into three parts the land the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, so that a person who kills someone may flee for refuge to one of these cities.

Deuteronomy 20:11
If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you.
Donna N.
Donna N. from Orlando, FL said:
10 When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. 11 If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you. 12 If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city. 13 When the Lord your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. 14 As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. And you may use the plunder the Lord your God gives you from your enemies. 15 This is how you are to treat all the cities that are at a distance from you and do not belong to the nations nearby. 16 However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. 17 Completely destroy them--the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites--as the Lord your God has commanded you. 18 Otherwise, they will teach you to follow all the detestable things they do in worshiping their gods, and you will sin against the Lord your God. This seems contradictory unless we understand Genesis 3, where God said her seed would crush Satan's head. From that point on, Satan believed if he could corrupt the seed, the Messiah couldn't come crush his head... so deceived, isn't he? In Genesis 6 we see where Satan was corrupting the seed by creating offspring with the women here on earth. it says it happened before and after the flood. The offspring of this unholy union were corrupted... giants. God said to wipe them ALL out. The Israelites didn't, and they became a thorn in their flesh. it's old Testament picture of a new Testament principle... make NO provision for the flesh... the ephesians 6 kingdom! They are wicked and if we give them an inch they'll take a mile. We're to cast them down and take them captive to the obedience of Christ at the thought level. Otherwise they'll set up a strong hold and be much more difficult to deal with. Papa God, forgive me for giving place to the enemy in my thought life. I Recognize, take responsibility, repent and fall out of agreement with thoughts and cast them down, in the name of Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank You Jesus for setting me free, he whom the Son sets free is free indeed! Now give me the power and discernment to always submit to You and Resist the devil and he must flee. Show me someone to share the freedom I have in You, with someone who is bound by the lies of the enemy. let the words of my mouth and mediations of my heart beacceptable in Your site o Lord my Rock and Redeemer, in Jesus name, amen

Deuteronomy 32:4
He is the Rock, his works are perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong,
upright and just is he.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Key words: God is the Rock His works are perfect, and His ways are just. In this verse we see God is our Rock and He is a just God, His dealings with men are fair, God shows no favoritism, everybody gets what he or she deserves because of sin. The upright will be rewarded and the sinner punished. A God who is just requires His children to be just.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Can't add much to that, Peter. He has set a standard for us by His word which He has inspired man to write. What He has written, He expects mankind to obey. He is a gracious God when we sin, confess and repent but He does expect us to turn from our sins when He reveals them to us. So many of the world today think they can do as they like but there surely will be a day of accountability. Have a great week Peter, as we keep out attention upon the King. Looks like He's going to give us reasonably mild week ahead if forecasts are correct. Perhaps remove the snow that's still lingering but some bear ground appeared today. :-)

Deuteronomy 20:1
When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you.
John S.
John S. from Champaign, IL said:
So often God reminds us to not be afraid. We can trust our Father as we remember who He is and \what He has done for us. I am encouraged by the whole chapter. Not only can we be bold in serving Him, He knows where we are in the season of life and He make allowances for our current conditions and our future blessings.
