Genesis 4:7
If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it."

Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Cain was tempted and the Lord spoke to him and encouraged him to do what was right and be accepted but as we see Cain chose the way of sin and killed his brother Abel. Cain fell to the temptation and committed the sin of murdering his brother. After Cain's sin, he was banished from the presence of the Lord. Temptation is an ever present reality in our lives and we must choose the right path, and choose to honor the Lord and reject the temptation to sin. Lord, help me/us to follow Your ways and reject the temptation to sin when it presents itself. Amen
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Amen Lloyd, If Cains does well by God's standard, after God rejected his offering, that cure for his rejection is obedience, If Cain does what is right(obey and repent) for his anger, God will accept him. Be Blest and Trust in His Faithfulness to the Body of Christ.

Revelation 15:2
And I saw what looked like a sea of glass glowing with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and its image and over the number of its name. They held harps given them by God
Maria
Maria from Somewhere said:
It means to me and I believe that God is faithful and true, he will recompense and do justice to those that have been faithful and obedient, living their life in the Spirit, trusting in He's faithfulness to the end without bowing down to their flesh or the beast.

Genesis 4:8
Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field." While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
This passage deals with the murder of Able. The first recorded murder in history by Cain his older brother, the first born of Adam and Eve.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Yes, Peter, and the Lord had encouraged him not to fall to the temptation to sin, and yet Cain chose the path of sin, in murdering his own brother. I see no indication that Cain even repented of his sin, and was therefore banished from the presence of the Lord. "Luke 13:3  I tell you, No. But unless you repent, you will all likewise perish." Be encouraged Peter, as we draw near to the Lord and resist that temptation to sin that is always presented to us. :-)

Genesis 3:4
"You will not certainly die," the serpent said to the woman.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Where did lying start? Well here it is, the serpent, the devil himself, began lying when he lied to Eve, and it has never stopped to this day. "John 8:44  You are of the Devil as father, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and did not abide in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it." What a glorious day it will be when we enter God's kingdom, never to hear, or worry about being lied to again. Hallelujah...!!!
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Amen Lloyd, you nailed another one. Lying, the first Temptation to sin straight from the serpents/devils mouth. And you backed it up with scripture. Be Blest and focused on the Lords eminent Return.

Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"

Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
The beginning of mans separation from God. The temptation of mankind, the first human sin that separated us from God, and the consequences that followed in this chapter.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Amen, Peter. The enemy surely didn't wait long to bring about our seperattion from our Creator but praise God He knew what our enemy would do, and He already had a plan to bring restoration to those who pay attention to His plan, even to this very day. Be encouraged and strengthened by the truth of His word, Peter. :-)

Genesis 2:7
Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
It is amazing the power of our God, who took dust from the earth and created man and then breathed life into him through his nostrils. What an awesome God we serve. Lord, help me/us to honor You in all I/we think and do, that You may be pleased with Your creation of humanity. Amen

Genesis 2:21
So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and then closed up the place with flesh.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
The Creation of man from the dust of the earth to creation of a woman from the rib of man: The God who provides has given Adam the greatest earthly gifts: a helper , a companion, a wife setting the example of Marriage. God is the giver of all good things James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the Heavenly Lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Very well expressed, Peter. And surely woman is the greatest possible gift to man, as they are a help mate and a counter-balance. We surely wouldn't have gotten very far without them. Have a joyous week in the Lord, my brother in Christ. Bye the way, temp reached 77 here yesterday but sure has dropped back down tonight, currently 50 degrees and calling for 45 over night. :-)

Genesis 1:26
Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Genesis 1 Creation/The Beginning: Key words "let Us make mankind in Our likeness" Here we see God speaking of The Holy Trinity, Father,Son, and Holy Spirit . And according to Scripture the full Trinity were present at the Creation. Genesis 1:1-2 The Spirit of God was hovering over the waters, and John 1:1-3 reveals the Word Jesus Christ was active in creation of all things. God is the Maker, and all of Creation belongs to Him.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Excellent comment Peter. You summed that up very well with the Trinity all accounted for even in the beginning. Blessings my brother in Christ, as we begin another week in our wait of His glory. :-)

Genesis 1:16
God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Two great lights He created, the sun to light the earth by day and the moon to light it by night. Such an awesome God we serve. He spoke and the sun, moon and stars were created. To me the sun is the most amazing creation. When I think about it, the sun is a huge ball of fire ninety three million miles from earth. It lights the earth, warms the earth and the most amazing part is, it never runs out of fuel, never decreases in size. A fire burns fuel and if we have an oil furnace in our home and we don't refuel that furnace, it goes out and we no longer have heat but the sun has been burning for over 6,000 years and never goes out. What an awesome God, who controls all things.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Amen Lloyd, two great lights to rule the night and the day. He created the whole Universe, what an incredible display of power. Thanks for that option hope we don't need to do that for the rest of the study. Be Blest my Brother in Christ

Revelation 22:17
The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let the one who hears say, "Come!" Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
A final invitation to those who wish, to receive the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, the Water of Life. Lord, may Your Holy Spirit open the spiritual eyes and ears of those who do not yet have the Water of Life in, and flowing through them. Amen
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Lloyd you nailed it with the Final Invitation/Call. What a better Gift, a Free Gift through Jesus Christ who paid for that Gift with His Precious Blood. Blessings on this Lords Day, may the Spirit of God Guard your Heart.

Ya, I managed to get to Gen. 1 but took some scrambling. See he blue form on the right, Peter, well in the top section I put in Genesis chapter 1 and verse 1 and it brought it up with the first verse highlighted, so I just chose a verse and commented and it worked.. Where it said verse (option) I skipped that first time and it didn't come up. Give it a try, Peter. :-)
