or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God's work—which is by faith.

It reminds me of the difference between knowledge and compassion. Knowledge stays inside the head. Compassion puts that head knowledge into action. It is faith that advances God's Kingdom not raw data. Greg Laurie observed about workers for Christ something that went like this: those who know the most do the least and those who know the least do the most. I'm satisfied to be included with that latter groups.

We live by faith in the Word of God. A friend told me that she heard that Jesus had a wife; I told her that is wrong - nowhere in the Bible does it say any such thing. We cannot add heresay to God's word.
