This scripture reminds me to pray for all people. I should pray for friend and foe, family and stranger, believer and nonbeliever, American and foreigner.

This I believe is so important, as we see disturbances all over the world. Verse 2 also includes kings and all those in authority, and right now our nation is in turmoil due to certain leaders not operating with the integrity and honesty that ought to be first and foremost. "Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject to the higher authorities. For there is no authority but of God; the authorities that exist are ordained by God." I believe that God has put our current leaders in place for a reason, which hopefully will bring about a turning back to God and His righteousness. Lord, I pray that You will use the current turmoil among the leaders in our nation to cause the body of Christ to pray and seek Your solution, because as Your word declares, You have put our leaders in place. Amen

As Christians when we pray, God works, God unleashes His power in the world when we take time to pray. We can also establish a personal relationship with God through prayer. Pray with out ceasing, what a better way to communicate with Our Heavenly Father.

This is how I pray. This verse mentions "Petitions" first of all. I actually read a book called "praying for the impossible" where it says "write out your prayers as a petition". Just like a legal document with key verses from God's word that is in reference to your situation. In a sense, you are reminding God of his promises. Then pray about it, intercession (meditation) and of course, always giving thanks. I actually did this. My prayers really haven't been answered yet, but I feel such a peace just knowing I am in his presence and if it is his will, my prayers will be answered on God's timetable, not mine.
