Numbers 31:23
and anything else that can withstand fire must be put through the fire, and then it will be clean. But it must also be purified with the water of cleansing. And whatever cannot withstand fire must be put through that water.

Here we see the Elements of Holiness, Fire and Water. The cleansing roles of fire and water are two elements are linked to John the Baptist, (cleansing of water/an outward sign) a ritual and symbolic purpose and Jesus Christ (a fire baptism, an internal cleansing of the heart) you can't have one without the other. Internal cleansing (by fire) and external cleansing (by water) were demanded by God. Matthew 3:11 I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Well expressed, Peter. I found it difficult to choose a verse but you surely did and excellent job of explaining this one, and relating it to a New Testament passage. Have a joyous week, as we walk with the Lord, brother Peter. :-)

Fire and Water a Cleansing Process: We as Christians are Cleansed by the Blood of Christ, and by the importance of teaching the Pure word of God. Water is a symbol of a cleansing from sin- let us draw near to God with a sincere Heart and with full Assurance that Faith brings, having our Hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a Guilty Conscience and having our Bodies washed with Pure Water.
