Numbers 5:7
and must confess the sin they have committed. They must make full restitution for the wrong they have done, add a fifth of the value to it and give it all to the person they have wronged.

To me, this would be a sign of, and a means of repentance. As we know, in the New Testament, there is to be confession and repentance. (1John 1:9  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Luke 13:3  I tell you, No. But unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.) There is always a price to be paid for sin, and Christ provided the ultimate price for the sins of the world but we still are required to confess and repent of those sins, and we are washed clean by the shed blood of Christ. Praise the Lord for His grace and mercy.

Amen Lloyd, Repentance and Confession is key all through out Gods word. As we see in the story of Zacchaeus the tax collector. As you stated there is always a price for sin. Have a Blessed week.

Restitution is a biblical concept in the Old Testament of the law, which was also mentioned in Leviticus about restitution. Again a difficult chapter. Today when someone becomes a Christian he has a desire of deep conviction to do good, as a Christian we should make some form of restitution that repentance is called for. You don't need to feel guilty to make fully restitution. Restitution is not required for salvation, if you receive forgiveness of sins through Faith in Jesus Christ your sins are forgiven.

Wow. Once again we chose the same verse and expressed very similar trains of thought. Haven't heard yet how the Israeli elections turned out but I pray they turned out well for the protection of Israel and I have always liked PM Netanyahu, and I'm sure we'll hear very shortly, as it would be about 5:00 am on the 18th over there now. Have a joyous week brother Peter. :-)

It's hard to pick a verse and comment on it but we all must confess our sins even today.
