Deuteronomy 3:27
Go up to the top of Pisgah and look west and north and south and east. Look at the land with your own eyes, since you are not going to cross this Jordan.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
"Since you(Moses because of your disobedience) you are not going to cross this Jordan( to the Promised land) seems pretty harsh. But there is always punishment for not obeying God. The lesson here for Christians is to obey the commands of God. Obedience to God, is all about following Jesus Christ. John 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commands.

Deuteronomy 2:7
The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything.

Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Here we see Wondering in the Wilderness for 40 years was a challenge for Israel, because of them not trusting and obeying God. And as this verse stated He watched over their journey through the wilderness for 40 years, and He still blest them. As Christians we are challenged daily, and on our own journey, a journey of being born again and having Eternal Life with Jesus. We must not forget our destination, our everyday walk(through scripture) brings us closer to God. This world is not our home Amen and Amen!

Amen to that Peter. Though we have all kinds of testimonies of what heaven is like, it's hard to really grasp hold of life there, since our world is in such a turmoil. We surely need a moving of Holy Spirit to transform this world. There's been much prayer for tomorrow, our election day, which surely has been needed due to our current government. Still praying regarding the obvious false attacks against your president too, Peter. Be blessed and encouraged as we begin another week of waiting on the King of kings. :-)

Deuteronomy 1:8
See, I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land the Lord swore he would give to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—and to their descendants after them."

Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Key Phrase: "Go in and take possession of the Land the Lord Swore He would give to your fathers- to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob- and to their descendants after them." The one word that kept Joshua and Israel to stand firm in the face of the enemy was Inheritance. Over and Over God commands His children to take possess the Land. This land was a Gift from God. And as Christians and a child of God we have our Inheritance in Christ Jesus.

Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Amen Peter, and what a gift He provided us, the gift of eternal life. So many times the Israelites doubted and feared, even after God had shown His mighty hand upon them so many times. 1Sa 15:22  And Samuel said, Does Jehovah delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice! To listen is better than the fat of rams! Enjoy a blessed Lord's day, Peter. We experienced our first mild frost last night at 30 but supposed to be a low of only 37 tonight. :-)

Numbers 36:10
So Zelophehad's daughters did as the Lord commanded Moses.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Over and over again we read in Gods word that He Blesses and rewards for obedience. And as we see here in this verse Zelophehad's daughters did as the Lord commanded Moses they married with in the family. Difficult final Chapter.

Amen to that Peter. Entire difficult book, but some chapters more difficult than others. Once again, the weekend is upon us and things are tense here in Canada, as our elections are Monday the 21st. I pray the Lord will have His way and that we will have a government that will honor Him, and the people who elect them. We surely need a change at this point, or we're in big trouble. We have to just trust in the Lord that He will bring about the results He desires. Have a blessed weekend bother Peter, and I thank you for your prayers. :-)

Numbers 35:15
These six towns will be a place of refuge for Israelites and for foreigners residing among them, so that anyone who has killed another accidentally can flee there.

Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Key word here: Refuge. Lets look at this from a Christian standpoint. There is a parallel between these cities of Refuge, and Jesus,is our place of Hope and Refuge. John 6:37 All those the Father gives me will come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will never drive away.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Very well expressed Peter, and backed with Scripture. Jesus surely is our Hope and Refuge. Praise Jesus and the Father for that refuge. The Father gave and Jesus carried out being the sacrifice. I can't imagine the stress of the Father or Jesus, both gave tremendously. I cannot imagine giving my child to such horror to pay for someone else's crime. God bless and keep you, brother Peter. :-)

Numbers 34:2
"Command the Israelites and say to them: 'When you enter Canaan, the land that will be allotted to you as an inheritance is to have these boundaries:

Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Again another difficult chapter. From reading this chapter I can't imagine how big the Land of Canaan was then, compared to what Israel is today. I know today they say Israel is about the size of New Jersey.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Amen to the difficult chapter, Peter. Most difficult yet I believe. Amen as well to the size of Israel today, Peter but originally it was much larger than Israel today. Gen 15:18  "In the same day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, I have given this land to your seed, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates," The river of Egypt would have been the Nile, I beleieve, and the Euphrates runs through Iraq. I expect before the Lord comes back, Israel will be it's original size, just as Jehovah allotted to Abram (Abraham). Time will tell. Be blessed and encouraged, Peter, as we study His word and wait to see what He is going to do. :-)

Numbers 33:55
" 'But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land, those you allow to remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will give you trouble in the land where you will live.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Key Phrase:(They will give you trouble in the land where you will live) This is an interesting and difficult chapter, but can label it the Travels of the Israelites from Egypt to the Promise Land. And in this verse they failed to drive out the Canaanites from the land, and by there act of disobedience, they still possessed the land. And because of their act of disobedience they fell into the corrupt practices of the Canaanites, that continues today.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Amen to that Peter. Sure would be a lot less troublesome if they had been obedient to the Lord's command at that time. I love the people of Israel but such troubles they face every day from terrorism. May the Lord's peace be upon you and yours, brother Peter. :-)

Numbers 32:23
"But if you fail to do this, you will be sinning against the Lord; and you may be sure that your sin will find you out.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Key Phrase: "and you may be sure that your sin will find you out" Here we see sin is transgression of the Law. A sin my be safely hidden, but we know there is no sin that can be concealed from God. No one can escape punishment, God Himself is the only one who can pass judgement for sin. Proverbs 28: 13 Whoever conceals their sin does not prosper, but the one who confesses them finds mercy. Psalm 69: 5 You God know my folly, my guilt is not hidden from you.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Amen Peter. Our sin is always seen, if not by man, it surely is by God, for He misses nothing, and then you backed it up with two excellent Scripture verses. Enjoy a blessed week in the Lord Peter, as looks like Fall weather is upon us with temps in the mid 50s are forecast, and the colors are brilliant. :-)

Numbers 31:23
and anything else that can withstand fire must be put through the fire, and then it will be clean. But it must also be purified with the water of cleansing. And whatever cannot withstand fire must be put through that water.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Here we see the Elements of Holiness, Fire and Water. The cleansing roles of fire and water are two elements are linked to John the Baptist, (cleansing of water/an outward sign) a ritual and symbolic purpose and Jesus Christ (a fire baptism, an internal cleansing of the heart) you can't have one without the other. Internal cleansing (by fire) and external cleansing (by water) were demanded by God. Matthew 3:11 I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Well expressed, Peter. I found it difficult to choose a verse but you surely did and excellent job of explaining this one, and relating it to a New Testament passage. Have a joyous week, as we walk with the Lord, brother Peter. :-)

Numbers 30:2
When a man makes a vow to the Lord or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said.

Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Difficult Chapter: Looking at this verse from a Christian stand point, breaking a vow can lead to consequences. By making a vow to the Lord or to one another, we are prone to errors of judgement by making vows foolishly. Making a foolish vow hinders our Relationship with the Lord.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Once again, as you said Peter, a difficult chapter but you expressed verse 2 very well. The chapter is basically about the authority of the man, second only to the authority of God but does not mean to abuse that authority. I've known some who have abused that authority over their women, thinking they were the boss and therefore demeaning their wives. Not a wise choice in regards to God. Blessings once again Peter, as we enter another Lord's day and another week has flown by. :-)
