Please join us in praying for our brothers and sisters across Africa, where following Jesus means facing danger every single day. The stories of Christians being killed or persecuted can sometimes feel overwhelming, but today, let’s take a fresh look at how God is moving in the midst of hardship.

Nigeria: The Cost of Discipleship

Nigeria has become one of the world’s most dangerous places for believers. In 2015, Nigeria ranked 10th on the Open Doors World Watch List. By 2020 it was 12th, and in 2025 it has moved to 7th. Moving up that list highlights the growing risk for those who claim Christ, not just numbers but lives and families impacted. Communities have endured unimaginable suffering because of extremist violence, and thousands of Christians have lost their lives for their faith. Yet amid the devastation, the resolve and hope of God’s people remain. As one local pastor said, “If telling the truth will cost me my life, then I have chosen to die telling it.”

The work of the Gospel of John is moving powerfully in Nigeria and far beyond. Across the entire continent, God is stirring hearts. From urban centers to remote villages, people in Africa are seeking hope and truth. The current landscape and challenges look very different in North Africa compared to Sub-Saharan Africa, but in every region, the Gospel continues to grow and reach new lives.

League Impact: Lives Invited to Meet Jesus

  • In the past three years, 4.7 million people across Africa have been invited to meet Jesus through PTL’s ministry.
  • Over 2.15 million people in Africa have received the opportunity to encounter Christ in this year alone.
  • The cost of making these invitations is significant, between $650,000 and $700,000, but it is invaluable compared to the risks many face.
  • Our PTL APP will soon feature a new Communities function, connecting seekers and new believers for ongoing discipleship and growth among our partners.

We are witnessing a growing hunger for the truth found in God’s Word. Every Gospel shared and every APP download represents a life touched by the same power that sustains believers everywhere.
