The Gospel Shines Bright in Karachi This Christmas

As Christmas lights sparkled across the streets of Karachi, something even brighter was shining—the light of Christ.

This past Christmas, The Pocket Testament League had the incredible privilege of partnering once again with Gawahi Mission in Pakistan. Together, we invited more than 239,500 people to meet Jesus through the Gospel at the Karachi Christmas Rally. Each Gospel of John included a printed QR code leading directly to the PTL App, providing more opportunities for people to read, share, and grow in God’s Word long after the event ended.

Pakistan, home to over 240 million people, ranks #8 on the Open Doors 2025 World Watch List for persecution against Christians—higher than China and India. Only about 2% of Pakistan’s population follows Christ, yet believers there remain steadfast and bold, faithfully sharing the Good News in a place where it can be dangerous to do so.

Their courage inspires us. And this Christmas, we witnessed something extraordinary.

A Story of Deep Hunger for Truth

Aamir is an imam and professor at a Qur’anic university in Pakistan. For years, he quietly searched for Issa—Jesus. But in his city, finding a Bible was nearly impossible.

When he heard about the Karachi Christmas Rally, Aamir rode for hours by motorcycle to attend. There, for the first time in his life, he received a Gospel of John. Holding it with trembling hands, he said with deep emotion,

“I will not just read it—I will eat every single Word of the Gospel.”

Aamir’s hunger for truth didn’t stop there. He left that day with more than 200 PTL Gospels to share with his friends and students, eager for them to meet the Jesus he had long searched for.

“The Living Jesus—Whose Grave Is Empty”

Faisal Shah was born into a family of shrine keepers in Pakistan, a lineage of deep spiritual influence. Yet, despite his position, his heart was unsettled. He could not reconcile how any human being—even one deemed holy—could stand between God and people.

His questions led him to Gawahi Mission TV, where he began hearing about Jesus. After weeks of seeking and prayer, Faisal came to believe in the living Christ—and publicly declared his faith.

The cost was deep. His own family turned against him, beating him and leaving him for dead. But God preserved his life.

Months later, Faisal traveled to attend the Karachi Christmas Rally. Receiving his first Gospel, he said with conviction,

“I am reading the Gospel of the living Jesus—whose grave is empty. His words are alive because He is alive.”

Since that day, Faisal has shared hundreds of Gospels and has helped lead many others to faith in Jesus.

This Gospel movement in Karachi was so remarkable that it made front-page news!

Two news articles feature images of a Christmas rally in Karachi, Pakistan. One shows people on camels holding Pakistani flags, the other shows a festive crowd with Santa hats and Christmas decorations on a city street.

And the ripple effects are only beginning. With every Gospel distributed, every QR code scanned, and every person who meets Christ, the light of the Gospel continues to spread across Pakistan.

In February, The League will host a special Around the World Call featuring our partner in Pakistan, where you can hear firsthand how God moved throughout the Christmas season—not only in Karachi but across the entire nation. Stay tuned for details on how to join us.

Thank you for making this work possible. Because of your faithful giving and sharing, thousands of people in Pakistan celebrated Christmas as new believers—stepping into a new year and new life in Christ.

The Gospel truly is unstoppable.
