Working Together
Thomas is a truck driver, and he likes the Gospel cover with the Peterbuilt truck on it. He has gotten to know quite a few other truckers through his local church and is encouraging them to also share the pocket Gospels.
Thomas has begun using the Gospels with the truck on the cover
to help other truckers in his community begin to also share their faith,
by simply handing people the Gospels as a free gift.
Thomas confided that his wife, Helen, felt really great about him ordering the Gospels and she got excited about giving out a Gospel herself. One day he and Helen worked together to share a Gospel. They were driving and he was pulled over by the state police. Helen encouraged her husband to give the policeman a Gospel of John and she began to pray for their conversation.
Thomas simply handed a Gospel of John to the policeman, offering him a “free gift”.
Without hesitation, the policeman took the Gospel booklet
and responded that he is saved.
The two men shared their faith, prayed together and Thomas encouraged the policeman to share the Gospel with someone else. Although Thomas had exceeded the speed limit because he hadn’t realized it had changed, God used the situation, allowing he and Helen to work together to share the Gospel and encourage a brother in Christ to do the same.
