2 Chronicles 22:3
He too followed the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother encouraged him to act wickedly.

An apple does not fall far from the tree. Ahaziah’s father, Jehoram king of Judah, was wicked because he killed his brothers and led the people of Judah to prostitute themselves to idols, and his mother, a wicked woman, who was the granddaughter of the wicked Omri who sinned more than all the kings of Israel before him. And if that weren’t bad enough, his advisers were the house of Ahab, all of whom are wicked in their conduct and are detestable to the Lord. Bad companies corrupt good character. It is better to stay away from evil doers or else we’ll get drawn into their wicked deeds.

Very wrong of mother to encourage him to act wickedly. Can't imagine mother would do that.

Well, Linda, she was Jezebels daughter, and the apple surely didn't fall far from that tree.

yes, and Jezebel must have encouraged her daughter to act wickedly. Don't go near any of those apples trees. They are from the land of oz.

Wickedness promotes wickedness. It shows why so many today, who have not been raised in the ways of the Lord, promote the evil ways. It takes only one generation pulled away from God to destroy a nation. On the other hand I look at individuals who were raised in evil that God touched and turned them back to Himself. One prime example is Dani Johnson, my favorite business coach, who was raised under severely abusive parents, yet God pulled her out and she has influenced thousands for Christ, and sound business practices. Her primary business is now coaching others in business and uses biblical principles in her coaching and has transformed thousands of lives through those biblical principles. It is still an individual choice but the chances are high that those raised in evil situations will continue to perpetrate evil. Help me/us, Lord, to always look to You for guidance in my/our lives and help me/us to keep focused on You and Your truths and have the boldness to always apply them. Amen

Lloyd, that's why I believe in pre-destination. God chooses whom He chooses to raise up from whatever pit they may come from. Look at the Apostle Paul.

It depends on how you look at predestination, Donna. I do not believe God says; well, I'm choosing Lloyd, Paul and Donna to do this, that or the other thing, but we must remember that God is all knowing and foreknew what each individual on earth would choose. So in that sense, predestination is true but I believe it's just that God already knows what we will choose when we are presented with His truths. I don't believe He says, Paul is going to be a saint and Lloyd is going to hell. It is His desire that none should perish (Matt. 18:14) but He already knows which we will choose. God bless.

I know, Lloyd predestination is a sticky wicket. I believe God created us before the foundations of the world. There's not a thought in my mind that He doesn't know it altogether. Yes, He desires that none should perish. He have us free will, and the choice is ours. But then u have Jacob I loved but Esau I hated. He predestined from the womb that Jacob would rule over Esau. Christ was crucified before the foundations of the earth, so God knew before He ever said "let there be light" that man was gonna "blow it" and He and Jesus figured it out that Jesus would hafta zip up a human suit, come down here and go to the cross. I can just hear the angels wringing their hands and saying, "Jesus are u sure u really wanna (gulp) leave here (gulp) and go down (gulp) THERE? It's like someone says "I don't like the idea that I don't have a choice to get saved or not". "Ok then choose not to get saved, u must not be predestined". "Well I don't like the idea that I'm not predestined". Well chose to get saved then". God sits in His Heaven and smiles down on us with our little minds trying to figger Him out. God bless u 2.

2 Chronicles 22:3 - i have been working hard to piece this altogether. (correct me if i am wrong). Jehoshaphat was a good king (south) but most likely arranged for his son (Jehoram) to marry Evil Athaliah (the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel "north"). King (south) Jehoram was evil and killed all this brothers. His son King Ahaziah was also the son of Evil Athaliah ((the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel). Ahaziah's mother Evil Athaliah encouraged him to do wrong therefore he dies after one year being king. His mother (Evil Athaliah) kills all her grandchildren so she can be King. What a mess! We have to be careful who we allow to encourage us. We have the bible and we need to read it everyday and take our counsel from the Word of God. Psalm 1 "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish."

As far as I can see, that pretty well sums it up Donna. You and I chose the same verse. It shows how evil perpetrates evil but the choice is still ours. Trouble is, when we are raised in evil, the chances of continuing the evil are great. God bless.
