John 16:7
But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

Jesus is teaching us that unless He goes away, dies on the cross for our sins, we will not receive the Holy Spirit and will continue to live under the law. None of us can live by the law because we are all sinners, but because Jesus took all our sin upon himself we received the Spirit.

Jesus promises Holy Spirit (Advocate) would come. Praise Him for that, as Holy Spirit with the same authority as Jesus can be everywhere at the same time, which Jesus as a human could not. I believe Holy Spirit is the least recognized and attributed today but is the only one of the Trinity who is present with us today.
