Numbers 35:18
Or if anyone is holding a wooden object and strikes someone a fatal blow with it, that person is a murderer; the murderer is to be put to death.

It is quite obvious through out this entire chapter, that murder carries the death penalty for the perpetrator of an intentional death. Seldom is the death penalty used today but I believe that if someone who plans to kill another individual, realized the penalty would be their own death, it could very well cause them to stop and reconsider their plan to murder another individual. Mat 5:21  You have heard that it was said to the ancients, "You shall not kill" --and, "Whoever shall kill shall be liable to the judgment."

Great insight to this verse Lloyd, murder does pay a great penalty for intentional death. And backed up with scripture. But I also thought as we read in this chapter the avenger, who more or less took the law into his own hands and wasn't punished. Of course today the avenger could be prosecuted. Lifting up Canada in your up coming Elections. Blessing my brother.
