Time is running short! We must reach out to the lost! I wouldn't wish judgment on anyone! Advise please...I have never done much witnessing but the other night as I was trying to fall asleep I felt that I should send an email out to all my relatives and friends who are all over the country I asked God for confirmation that I should do this so I am asking for your prayerful input. Hi Everyone! Today is the day that I have decided to “come out of the closet”. Are you ready for this? I AM A BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN!!! For 30+ years I have not shared the most important part of my life with you. Why? Fear of rejection? Lack of opportunity? Fear of insulting someone…if that is the case I apologize in advance! So why now? Let me ask you a question…. if you truly, truly believed that there was a bomb set to go off tomorrow at noon in a superstore, what would you do? If you call them and warn them… will they believe you… will they think you are nuts… or maybe they will investigate to see if it is true. I care about you I am hoping you will do some investigating! I was not brought up in a church setting and I believe that may true of some of you. Please know I am not advocating or putting down any specific religion or church. Going to church is great but it does not mean you are a Christian anymore than going to a fast food restaurant makes you a hamburger! I decided to study the Bible for myself and after some investigation decided to simply believe what it says. I take it literally. Either it is true or it is hogwash. Jesus is the Son of God or he was a liar, deceiver and worthy of nothing! Given those two options I believe He is the Son of God. I believe: 1. The Bible is inspired by God 2 Timothy 3:16 New International Version (NIV) 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,   2. Jesus is the Son of God Matthew 16:16 Amplified Bible (AMP) 16 Simon Peter replied, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. 3. Jesus came to save us John 3:16 Amplified Bible (AMP) 16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. So this indicates that if we do not believe (trust, cling to or rely) we will come to destruction, be lost – I don’t want anyone I know to be lost! Hence the reason I am doing this. 4. Jesus is the only way to the Father John 14:6 New International Version (NIV) 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 5. In order to be saved we must be “born again” John 3:3 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) “I assure you, everyone must be born again. Anyone who is not born again cannot be in God’s kingdom.” 6. When we die we will be judged by God Hebrews 9:27 New International Version (NIV) 27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 7. On Judgment Day we will be asked: “What did you do with Jesus?” John 3:18 New Living Translation (NLT) 18 “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. The term “believe” means trust, cling to or rely… after all Satan believes that Jesus is the Son of God and he is not going to heaven! So if this is true that means that if you have not made a commitment to God you will perish – come to destruction, be lost! You either believe or you don’t – there is no sitting on the fence! 8. If we acknowledge Jesus as our Savior He will acknowledge us before God – if we don’t acknowledge Him He won’t acknowledge us! Matthew 10:32-33 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) 32 “If you stand before others and are willing to say you believe in me, then I will tell my Father in heaven that you belong to me. 33 But if you stand before others and say you do not believe in me, then I will tell my Father in heaven that you do not belong to me. If you are truly interested in becoming a “born again” Christian there are 3 steps: 1. Admit that you are a sinner and turn away from sin (see John 8:11) (God created the world, and that includes you. At first everything was good, exactly as God made it. But now we all make wrong choices and commit wrong actions. We live in God’s world but go our own way. We fail to live up to God’s standards, and so we are guilty. The Bible calls this “sin”. Our sin separates us from God.) 2. Believe (have faith) that when Jesus died on the cross He took the punishment for all your sin and He rose to life again to conquer death (see John 1:29) 3. Receive (ask) Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior (see John 1:12) A Simple Prayer: Here is a prayer you can use to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. It is a suggested prayer. The exact wording doesn’t matter, what counts is the attitude of your heart. “Lord Jesus, thank You for showing me how much I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for me. Please forgive all my failures and the sins of my past. Make me clean and help me start fresh with You. I now receive You into my life as my Lord and Savior. Help me to love and serve You with all my heart. Amen”   A New Beginning Becoming a follower of Jesus is only the beginning of an exciting journey. Jesus called it being “born again”. It means you now have a personal relationship with God as your heavenly Father. You are not alone. God sent the Holy Spirit from heaven to be your counselor, to guide you into all truth (see John 14:26, 15:26 and 16: 12-15). He will help you live each day for God and to accept the changes He wants to make in your life. You can depend on His power to enable you to grow as a follower of Jesus. Being a follower of Jesus involves a whole new life. Start now. • Read a part of the Bible each day (Daily Bread is a Good Start) • Pray daily, talk to God as you would to a close friend • Join a local church where the Bible is taught • Share your faith in Christ with others Well that’s it folks…now you know what a “born again” Christian is and what they believe. If anyone asks if you have heard the Gospel Message you can now say you have…what you do with it is up to you and God! If there is any way I can help or answer any questions you may have, feel free to write me. If I don’t know the answer I will try to get it for you. God Bless!

Thank you, Donna. I pray that my relatives will respond to the message. At least when I stand before God I will be able to say that they were told the Good News and that they were in our prayers!
