At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.

Yep, for the moist part that was me, but praise God for His grace and mercy and the prayers of a workmate, Holy Spirit finally convicted and arrested me and brought me to faith in Christ. Thank You Lord for Your patience and persistence, that I finally came to the realization of my need to submit to Jesus, my Savior. Amen

This verse serves to remind me personally that I was not always where I am now, and even now, I'm still not where I should be, but thankfully, I'm not where I used to be. The 4th verse goes on to let me know that by God's grace and His mercy I've been brought from darkness into the light...into the Light of God's love, into the Light which is Jesus, the Christ, my Lord and Savior.

We tend to stand in judgement of others when we consider how much we have grown in faith in Christ Jesus our Lord. We forget that everything we have, including our faith, is given to us by the grace of God. So if God is the one who gives all this to us, what do we have to boast about? Thank you LORD for giving us your mercy and grace that we do not deserve. Everything we have we give you thank for and please help us to be gentle to all.
