Zephaniah 3:2
She obeys no one,
she accepts no correction.
She does not trust in the Lord,
she does not draw near to her God.

I fall short in drawing near to God, my Father and putting to death the works of the flesh sometimes. Help me Father God to draw closer to You.

NKJV says it this way: She has not obeyed His voice,She has not received correction; She has not trusted in theLord,She has not drawn near to her God. God had Zephaniah repeat "She has not" four times Nailing home the root of Jerusalem's sin. 1. God called to His people, thru His prophets, over and over but they didn't listen. 2. He sent correction, but they just looked at it as ruff times and bad circumstances rather than correction. 3. He never gave her a reason to stop trusting in Him by being untrustworthy. Now they're openly denying and contradicting His Word and promises, showing they weren't trusting in Him. 4. The last, but definitely not the least, and actually the worst, is that God is longing for a relationship with Her, but they rejected Him and went their own way, Thus not drawing near to Him. The LORD is righteous in her/our midst. That's what makes the unrighteousness of His people so sad and tragic. God's done nothing but be righteous to them, but they respond with sin. Eventually they end up putting themselves on the justice side of God's righteousness. God brought His justice to the nations around Judah, hoping it would serve as a warning to Judah of what would happen if they rejected Him. Instead of learning from the surrounding nations, they sinned all the more. But, after all that, God's still saying, "I will gather … I will save". He promises to encourage the discouraged, defeat our enemies, heal the lame, and to gather the scattered. He's not going to do this because of anything Judah/we have done. He's gonna do it for His name sake,  praise and fame because we are found in Him. Thank You Papa God that You're faithful even when I'm not.
