2 Samuel 19:10
and Absalom, whom we anointed to rule over us, has died in battle. So why do you say nothing about bringing the king back?"

A few days before these same people wanted Absalom as their king and now that he is dead they want David back. People can be so fickle. This is a reminder that all of us need to be careful not to follow the will of the majority. Just because the majority join in together for a certain cause doesn't mean that cause is right. We as believers are asked by God to always stand for what is right even if we are the only ones standing. God promises to bless us when we do!

That which is anointed by man will come to nothing. God did not anoint Absalom man did. God's anoint avails much but mans self promotion means nothing.
