2 Timothy 4:17
But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion's mouth.
Timothy H.
Timothy H. from Melrose, MA said:
God is faithful when all others desert us. He is also faithful to us as we proclaim His message to the world, and will go to whatever lengths necessary to protect and keep us until His work in us is done.

Our family and friends are being pulled away from the Lord by all the modern technology as well as the sexual or crude or evil content of today's advertising and movies, and it is very hard to talk with them about the Lord. But Paul was in the same position all his life, and he never swerved from his task. The Lord stood by his side and gave him strength. May I depend on the Lord too, to give me strength to say the right thing at the right time with grace and love.

This verse tells me that the Lord stands by my side through all the trials that I've be going through. He is with me every step of the way. And I do believe he will not leave me.And as I go out and spread his word to people that don't know him he will give me the words to say. If I run into any trouble along the way he will deliver me from what ever I face.

It is refreshing to know the Lord is by my side, providing strength in my weakness and trouble. So that the word in me might be proclaimed to a soul in need. For the Lord has delivered me one more time

This verse means to me that no matter what the Lord will never leave my side to suffer through my fears and anxieties. That he will deliver me from my fleshly ways.

Well what I get from this cripture is the trials I have been through losing my X wife to a another man, losing my ranch losing my career, losing the use of my right arm and now losing the use of my kidneys has taought me humility and to trust in the lord that he has a plan and a purpose for all of us. The words in this passage jumped off the page when I think that we on earth think we have it all fitured out but without God in our lives we really do not have anything.

Every day we are bombarded with attacks from the the enemy of our soul. As we are dealing with these attacks we sometimes feel alone or just do not know where to turn. But the Apostle Paul new that even though others had left him, Jehovah (Yahweh) Nissi had not. He is the God of the right hearted. He is our strength and protector. If we put our trust and faith in him, we can have peace in our deep valleys and refreshment for our soul and spirit. We can say to ourselves and others that no matter what is going on, I will not shrink in fear because the true God does see me and wants the best for me. If our Adonai was there for Daniel and Paul and others, will he not be there for us/me if we/I fully rely on him without fear.

correction - Apostle Paul 'knew' that even though others had left him, Jehovah (Yahweh) Nissi had not.

This is my first time on here. I don't think I like the question, "What does this verse mean to you?" Perhaps a better question would be, "Why did you pick this verse?" I picked this verse because there is great comfort in it as well as knowing that our Lord will deliver His Word regardless of our inabilities and frailties. It is after all His "message", not ours.
