Job 2:10
He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?"

In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.

It is difficult to wrap your mind around the fact that God allowed this to happen to Job. It's not our place to understand why God would do this just know he is working for all of mankind's good. His wife wanted him to curse God but he did not. I'm sure this totally confused the devil. His friends gave support to him just simply by being there. Sometimes that's just all we need is to know someone else is just there. They must have been dedicated friends to sit there in silence.

I have come to the understanding that sinning is not as simple our list of what is right and wrong, i.e. taking a life, lying, stealing, etc. But instead it is as simple as believing and doing the opposite of what God says. It's as simple as that. Because anything that goes against what God has put into place is a lie. For example when we do something as simple as say, "I am sick", that is a sin, because this is a lie. God says, "As His children, we are well", so we should say, "We are well". I AM is God's name that He has entrusted us with so when we say I AM sick, we are saying God is sick... So from today's scripture, I am gathering that Job never said he was sick or ill, but instead continued to speak life and the promises of God. I do fall short in this a lot, misusing God's name (I AM) but by His grace, by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, He continues to teach me-transforming my mind and my mouth. For this I am thankful. Praise God for His eternal grace and mercy. In Jesus name. Amen.

We should not expect to have no sufferings or trouble because we love Jesus and are Christians. We are however, to keep the faith, and keep trusting and believing that God will see us through the hard and bad times. Even though Job was in pain, he did not give up on God, just as we must not when we are experiencing hard times or trouble.

This reminds me again of the importance of how much trust I have in God. If I allow my imagination to carry my thoughts along a path without thought of God, and His good plan for my life, and His ability to keep me on that path, then I would worry myself until I scared myself with all the imaginary scenarios that might be looming ahead. Then I would be a very foolish woman, indeed.

A great example for us today, to put our faith in God and remain faithful to Him always, as Job did, even in his deepest time of grief and suffering.

It is so easy for us to accept the good from God but when trouble comes we are ready to throw our hands up and run. Lord, help me to praise you not only in the good that you give me but also in the trials that come my way.

The message of Job is that we should not give up on God because He allows us to have bad experiences. Bad experiences are apart of living in this sin cursed world. The enemy wants to use those bad experiences to cause us to doubt God's goodness. God is able to rescue us from suffering but He is also capable of using suffering to help us to grow spiritually in ways we never could without it. Job teaches us to trust God no matter our experiences knowing in the end we are heading to a world where there is no more suffering.

Job is very faithful to God as he accepts the good along with the bad that has taken place in his life. He shows his thankfulness to God when everything was good in his life and he still believes in God and does not question Him when his whole life has been turned upside down. Thru his pain and suffering that has taken over his body, he still remains faithful to God even though he doesn't understand why. God, help me to not question You when my life is not going too good. I want to trust You that You know what You are doing and give me courage to stand up to others that try to persuade me to follow other paths that are not of You. Thank You God for giving me strength when I didn't think I had any left in me.
