Job 6:24
"Teach me, and I will be quiet;
show me where I have been wrong.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Key words: "show me where I have been wrong." Show me where I have sinned against God, help me to understand and I will repent. God never lets bad things happen because He doesn't care, He cares enough to prepare us for whats ahead and makes us stronger.

Job has listened to Eliphaz and now he is responding. In this verse he is telling him, teach me, show me my sin that you say I am being punished for. Show me then I will be quiet.

Job 6:24

Job begs his friends to be more understanding instead of being judgmental. His friends instead of having compassion were being argumentative. They overreacted to what Job said and then blasted him with reproof. Job said in verse 26 that they were treating what he said like "wind". When someone is suffering they need a friend who will listen with an understanding ear and not a judge who only is waiting to pounce on their every word.

Amen, Terry. His supposed friends were trying to tell him it was his fault that the Lord had allowed this tragedy and suffering upon him but they could not name anything he had done against the ways of the Lord. The Lord sometimes allows things to happen to us but as we have seen here, it was not the Lord who caused them, but Satan.

Job 6:24

Patsy W. from Burgaw, NC said:
Job's crying out with words of asking, begging, please forgive me,and teach me, show me what have I done wrong. Job is saying that he will be quiet and listen to whatever God has to tell him, even though the truth may hurt, he doesn't care as he just wants to know what he's done wrong.He wants to make it right with God. My heart goes out to Job with his pain and hurt, and I look up to him as he still has not cursed God. Job has a good heart and truly loves God. God, help me to have the strength and faith as Job. Whatever I have to endure here on this earth I want to always keep my eyes on You.
