Nehemiah 1:11
Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man." I was cupbearer to the king.
Matthew B. from Katy, TX said:
Nehemiah was really saddened about what he heard about Jerusalem. He sat down and wept. For some days He mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. He prayed and asked God to hear their prayers. God did hear that prayer!

The Book of Nehemiah is a testimony to God's Grace and renewal. He prayed with a passion, and a great concern for Jerusalem. And he believed in his heart that God would intervene. We can learn a lesson from this chapter by taking your request to God, and as we see here Nehemiah acknowledge God as God.

Nehemiah knows that God is attentive to his prayer because God is present with those whose heart seeks Him. If anyone is able to help Nehemiah, it is God. Nehemiah trusts that the Lord can and will help him so he prayed to the Lord, first to confess, then to seek His help. I believe that’s the first place we need to be when we need help, down on our knees before the Lord and seek Him. The Lord is compassionate and faithful, ready to help us whenever we need Him. I praise You, o Lord, for your love endures forever.

Rachel R. from Molalla, OR said:
God provides us with grace and mercy, if we repent our sins and ask God in prayer he will hear our prayers and answer them.. When we seek to be servants our prayers will be directed to seek help in areas that we serve God in so God alone can be glorified and his will be done... We trust God and his promises that where ever we are led and what or who ever we face God is faithful in his love and promises and will hear our prayers.

Nehemiah 1:11 - i have always loved the book of Nehemiah. i like how Nehemiah prays. He starts off with humility praising God and speaking of his dependence on God. Nehemiah like Ezra includes himself as he confesses the sins of Jews throughout history. He reminds God of His promises and quotes scripture. i know when i start off praying words come out that i didn’t plan on saying. Jesus tells us to pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send more workers into the field, i start praying that and before i end my prayer i am asking Jesus to send me. i wonder if Nehemiah had the same thing happen to him or did he know he was going to ask the Lord to give him favor with King Artaxerxes. Father in Heaven, i love how i hear from you when i am praying. i love how You use my prayers to change my heart. i know i don’t pray nearly enough as i should, but when i do, You are always there listening, watching and drawing me close to You. i love You so much.
