Nehemiah 9:28
"But as soon as they were at rest, they again did what was evil in your sight. Then you abandoned them to the hand of their enemies so that they ruled over them. And when they cried out to you again, you heard from heaven, and in your compassion you delivered them time after time.

Lord help me to not become complacent and in times of comfort stray from you. Give me strength and wisdom to do and be better. Time and time again you delivered them and each time they returned to the ways of the world. I thank and praise you for your grace and mercy that even while I am a sinner you love and accept me.

No matter how many times I desert God's plan for me, He has delivered me time after time. This makes me feel so much more than blessed. I feel love, a love that is so powerful that it fills you up inside.

The Lord God is faithful and compassionate even toward the disobedience. Here the Israelites confessed to the Lord their God how they had been unfaithful times after times, and when they were in distress, they cried out to Him and confessed their sins, He delivered them from the hands of their enemies. What a loving God! What a wonderful Savior! Oh how great is your love for us? No measurement can measure how great your love is for us, the sheep of your pasture. In our weaknesses we lift our hands up to your throne. We confess that we are weak and we need your help to deliver us from our sins. O Lord shed your light on us and help us to walk faithfully before you. Thank you for your love and faithfulness. Thank you Jesus for everything. Amen.

It is amazing how, when people have been blessed by God again and again, become complacent and ignore what He has done of them and His grace, mercy and provision. What a patient and gracious God we have, that when we choose to return to Him, He forgives and blesses again. Help us as believers in Christ, Lord, to not turn away from You and disobey Your commands but to draw ever closer to You, the one who created us, gave us life and forgiveness through Your shed blood and resurrection. Amen
