Titus 2:5
to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

"Self-controlled" is mentioned twice in this chapter. The entire tenor of the passage speaks of living a life which is disciplined, self-controlled, and Spirit led. We in the household of faith would do well to "examine ourselves" daily to see if our lifestyle to the watching world is speaking Christ to the world. We dare not be lazy or lax in our walk. As our world and our culture become even darker, we must remember that living out our faith in a disciplined and self-controlled manner "speaks" to the suffering, the lost, and the seeking.

What a wonderful time it is when the older women love and encourage the younger ones and teach them the ins and outs of marriage, love, children; in short their place in the home. I am a firm believer that a woman should stay home and love her husband first and then her family; however, our economy is so bad, many have to work in order to just survive in this world. Personally, I have had to work since I was a kid and when my children were growing up, I missed a lot of time with them and with my husband. Please believe, these older women have something to teach you if you will just listen to them.
