Hebrews 13:5
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,

"Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you."

God's promise to never leave me nor forsake me has special meaning to me because I know that His Word is true, and even when we might not be able to 'feel' or sense His Presence, Jesus is still holding us in the palm of His Hand, and we can and should praise Him for this. Believe first, then experience the proof is the way of our Lord. He wants us to learn to walk by faith, rather than by our feelings, or sight, etc.

Hebrews 12:2
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

I like the KJV version better, which says "Looking unto Jesus the author and fnisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." This verse is so special to me, because I would feel discouraged and so hopeless, and even trembling with horrible fear, thinking about the chastisement of God, and His commands for us to be perfect and holy. Of course we should do our best to walk as Christ walked, to be so perfect and holy, but more often than not it seems the harder we try, the worse we do. :( Which is why I love this verse encouraging me to look to Jesus to do His perfect work in and through me. I find myself learning and growing more in Christ when I'm looking to Him to change me. Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of my faith, He is the Potter, I am the clay. Beholding His beauty as in a glass, being changed into the same image from glory to glory by the Spirit of God. 2Cor. 3: 18

Hebrews 11:31
By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient.

This is my third try to post my comment on this verse, but for some reason it seems to have dissapeared, so I will try again. Keeping it much shorter, I wanted to share the hope and encouragement God gives me through Rahab the prostitute and other women in the lineage of Christ. From Rahab and others I see God using even the most unlikely people for very important roles in His master plan. Giving us hope that He can and will use any one of us if we are willing for Him to do so. Also giving much hope through Rahab for the salvation of our loved ones. Check it out in Joshua chapter 2 where ALL of Rahab's people are saved through her faith and obedience.

It really gives us something to think about doesn't it? God can and will use who He wants to fulfill His purposes and His plans. So often, in our humanity, we tend to judge, but God in His divinity, justifies.

Hebrews 10:14
For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Although it has the same meaning, I like the KJV Bible wording better, which states that 'by one offering he has perfected forever them that are sanctified.' We are sanctified through Christ (vs.10) and according to this verse we are perfected forever through Him (by faith, of course). And because we are in a body of flesh which is prone to sin, we need to ask and trust our Lord Jesus Christ to keep us following hard after Him. He will do the good things we ask. Matthew 7: 7-11.

Hebrews 9:17
because a will is in force only when somebody has died; it never takes effect while the one who made it is living.

This verse and the preceeding one, caused me to stop and think of God's Word being made up of His first Will and Testament (the Old Testament) and His last Will and Testament (the New Testament). Thinking of it in this way gave me cause to think about what He says of us being heirs, joint-heirs with Christ. Look at all the awesome gifts and treasures the Almighty God has willed to us in the New Testament.

Hebrews 8:9
It will not be like the covenant
I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they did not remain faithful to my covenant,
and I turned away from them,
declares the Lord.

Actually, it's verse 12 that I would like to mention, but for some reason it is omitted from this version of the Bible, as is 10 and 11 also. Anyhow, vs. 12 from the KJV "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." I might be wrong, but I love this verse as it shows God's infinite love and mercy towards His people.

Hebrews 7:25
Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Vivian P. from Somewhere said:
This is one among countless scriptures that gives me assurance that Jesus saves us completely, once and forever when we put our faith in Him. Showing me it has nothing to do with what we do or don't do, other than trusting fully in Him to save us. Not meaning we can continue in sin (God forbid), because we are His children through faith in Christ and God will chastise us when we sin. Besides that, when we realize all that He has done and is doing for us, we will want to live a life that is pleasing to Him. Also, not only does He save us completely (to the uttermost), but Jesus always intercedes for us before the Father. He truly deserves all honor, all glory, and all praise. Blessed be His Holy Name.

I really don't even like to think about what the unbelievers are facing if they don't get right with God through faith in His Son. We definitely need to pray for our Country and its people, as well as for those in our immediate circle of family, friends and aquaintences. I am in need of prayer for my own self also, that God would give me energy and all else needed for me to follow and serve our Lord Jesus better, so I could win more souls to Him and to be more of a benefit to help encourage, nourish, strengthen and heal His Body to which I belong.
