He carried all Jerusalem into exile: all the officers and fighting men, and all the skilled workers and artisans—a total of ten thousand. Only the poorest people of the land were left.

Key words He carried all Jerusalem into Exile:This chapter is telling me That God is a God that wont give up. By punishing Judha /Israel, God wants them to understand the errors of their ways,(sin of past kings) to humble themselves and return to Him. Gods goal is to redeem not condemn; to restore, not to destroy. The end for Judah/ Israel is repentance of sin and restoration as a nation. God never stopped speaking to them, remember they found the Law of Moses in previous chapter, they just failed to listen.

Amen Peter. Different verses but again, same train of thought. Israel just didn't get it, that they needed to follow the Lord as the one king Josiah had as soon as he discovered the book of the law, and immediately applied it. It is too bad that so often humanity has to be beaten into submission before they wake up. Have been praying for some wake-ups in our own nation right now. Have a blessed week brother Peter, as we learn and hopefully apply His principles. :-)
