It's hard to imagine going to this extent to cover up sin. There isn't mention of David going to The Lord in this chapter. He knew he was deep in sin which is when we should really really cry out to The Lord maybe it would have kept him from his stupid plan to have Uriah killed. The devil is really at work here. How could David send this man with his own death sentence. David is lost in his sin and abusing his power as king. He just keeps digging the whole deeper.

To cover his sin of adultery David committed a worse sin of murder. We are not to cover our sin but to confess and forsake sin.
