Esau thought nothing more of his birthright than a bowl of stew. Is that how we sometimes look at our salvation? Lord, I pray I never give my salvation away for a momentary pleasure.

It is interesting to see how God appears to still be sovereign and in control despite the decisions made by man. God ultimately has his purposes in mind and uses everything, even what appears to be bad choices at the time.

Our stomachs complain loudly to us when they are not satisfied. We can go many days without food, but rarely do because of the abundance available to us. The stomach's hunger makes it's commands seem louder and the most important; causing us to overlook things that should be obvious.
