Genesis 36:43
Magdiel and Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their settlements in the land they occupied.

This is the family line of Esau, the father of the Edomites.

A very difficult line to follow and put in perspective but the Lord must have had a reason to lay it out for us. It is beyond me to sort it all out but I love the people, culture and nation of Israel today, since God has reestablished the nation, now 71 years ago, and it has prospered dramatically. To me, it appears as one of the most fantastic nations on planet earth, for which I pray daily. May the Lord continue to prosper and protect His chosen nation, as then benefit the whole world.

Amen Lloyd, after further thought on Genealogy, it all came through Abraham's seed. Isaac, (Esau (peoples and Nations against Israel) & Jacob) Ishmael /Arab and Muslim Nations. And also from Abraham's seed, Jesus, (Mary His mother) Be Blest as we wait fore the Lion Of Judah.

Esau's clan sure enough multiplied. Wonder how he kept all his wives from squabbling?

Peter G. from Timonium, MD said:
As I skim over the names I realize that God has this written in the Bible for a reason. He wasn't just trying to fill space. Names are important. People are important. This section, though I skimmed over it, God didn't. He knew everyone of them. He knows me, my history, my place in the world. He is involved and not just some cosmic force of nature but a real, living Lord of lords Who interacts and is intimately involved in the affairs of people. It gives me comfort to know God is a God of reality and history and cares about the least among us.

As I read through all these names I couldn't help but think that these are the relatives of the Arab nations that surround the nation of Israel today. The vast majority of these people are Muslim and are in need of being saved by Jesus Christ. Lord I pray for these dear people today. I pray that You would open the eyes of these people and help them to discover the truth about Jesus Christ. I pray for the missionaries that work in these areas. Give them fruit for their labors. Use Christian radio to help them hear the truth. Watch over those in these lands who are followers of You. Protect them!

Amen, Terry. Israel is the apple of God's eye, so-to-speak and we pray for Israel every day, that God would protect her and bring the revelation of Yeshua to all of the people there and the Jews all over the world.
