Genesis 38:29
But when he drew back his hand, his brother came out, and she said, "So this is how you have broken out!" And he was named Perez.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Perez born to Judah and Tamar, is in the lineage of Jesus. Without Jesus where would be today? there would be no salvation today if Gods plan was overturned by the evilness of man. (Judah) Amen and Amen God worked His plan above the evilness of man, so that we may have an opportunity to be saved. Saved Through The Shed Blood Of Jesus.

Amen, Peter. When God has a plan, He WILL accomplish it, and no scheme of man will prevent His accomplishment of the plan He has. I pray the Lord helps me to stay on the path He has set for me. There surely is a lot of man made turmoil in the world today, as man attempts to influence himself, rather than accomplish God's plan. Be blessed, Peter, as we watch for the moving of Holy Spirit to influence the world to turn back to Christ. :-)

I found it interesting to discover that Perez was an ancestor of Jesus... Matthew 1:3, Luke 3:33.despite being born of ungodly parents...a wonderful example of God's grace!

Did you notice that God didn't condemn either of them? That he blessed both of them and put them in the genealogy of both King David and Jesus Himself? There were a lot fewer people in those days and childlessness was considered a terrible burden. Who would care for you in your old age? Other mothers looked down on the childless. They still do. I know because I was childless for 10 years. Finally I had a hysterectomy and it was made official that I would never bear a child. When I cried, I think they were finally ashamed of their unkindness. It wasn't that they were intentionally mean. They were just thoughtless. All wanted was to be a mother, so I was really sensitive, too. I wouldn't call Perez's parents ungodly. Judah repented and said, "She is more righteous than I am," because his last son had grown up and hadn't been given to Tamar to help her bear a son who would be called his brother's. When Boaz made Ruth his wife, he first stated that their child would be brought up to honor Ruth's first husband who had died without giving her any children.
