Africa Update: More Than 300,000 Invited to Meet Jesus in the Past Eight Weeks

Several weeks ago, we shared an update on Africa and the growing opportunities God is placing before The League. Since then, the momentum hasn’t slowed. It’s only picked up.

In the past eight weeks alone, more than 300,000 people across Africa have been invited to meet Jesus through the Gospel of John.

That number is amazing, and it’s part of something even bigger:

  • 1.2 million invitations in the past six months.
  • More than 2.5 million in the past twelve months.

The highest activity is coming from Sudan, Ethiopia, Congo-Kinshasa, and Algeria.

But numbers only tell part of the story. Across the continent, we’ve met with ministry leaders from North, West, East, and Southern Africa. Here are a few key highlights from what The League has been doing:

  • Students in Uganda were invited to meet Jesus, and some met Him!
  • Renewed opportunities for strategic partnership are opening in Kenya, Ghana, and Zambia.
  • We’ve launched three new Communities designed to help those who are seeking Christ take the next step into discipleship across South Africa.

The excitement from our partners stands out.

One ministry leader in South Africa, reflecting on the impact of the Gospel, shared, “Where we started using the Bread of Life, a church has now been planted and is growing!”

In Nigeria, despite ongoing attacks against Christians, ministry continues. Our partner there reported that more than 500 students have committed to sharing the Gospel, and another 400+ students are expected to attend camps this summer. His assessment was simple: “People are hungry for the Word of God, and the Gospel of John literally is taking down barriers regardless of culture.”

The opportunity across Africa is growing, and so are the partnerships, the communities, and the number of people being invited to meet Jesus.
