From a Mountain Town in Armenia, Lives Changed by the Gospel

Some of the most encouraging updates we receive don’t come from large cities or major Gospel-sharing events. Sometimes they come from small mountain towns in Armenia.

Last month, League Partner with Mission Eurasia held a five-day youth camp in Megradzor, Armenia. The small town sits between Armenia’s major population centers, surrounded by rugged mountain terrain, and it turned out to be an ideal place to gather young people and focus on God’s Word.

Sixty-three teenagers and young adults came together to hear about Jesus. Many had never been to a Christian camp, and many didn’t yet know or follow Him. Every participant received a Gospel of John and spent the week playing games, performing skits, and taking part in team-building activities. Most importantly, they studied God’s Word together.

He wrote, “Every morning, the participants read the Gospel of John, and each teenager was given their own copy of the Gospel of John, printed by PTL, so they could continue reading it after the camp ended.”

Through the faithfulness of the ministry volunteers and the mercy of God, lives began to change.

One camper, Hamlet, said, “I can say that this camp had a profound impact on me. Now I want to go home and share God’s Word with my family and my classmates. I want them to learn about God and Jesus Christ, too.”

The story doesn’t end there. After Hamlet got home, his uncle told the Mission Eurasia staff that “Hamlet began telling everyone about the Gospel and hardly stopped talking about what he had learned at camp.” The Gospel’s impact on this young man was already reaching others.

Another camper, Suzy, shared, “I’ve started to believe in God more and to see Him spiritually. I believe that He has forgiven all my sins.” Since returning home, she’s attended church three Sundays in a row and gotten involved in youth ministry. We praise God for another life changed by the Gospel.

Stories like these remind us that every Gospel shared is an opportunity. Sometimes that opportunity leads to a conversation, and sometimes it leads to a changed life.
